A Bit of History
Renaissance Orlando Resort – Disney Springs® Area has a story that stretches back more than five decades. First opened in 1972 as The Royal Inn, it later became known as Hotel Royal Plaza before a $30 million transformation reintroduced the property as a Renaissance hotel. Today, it stands as one of the Disney Springs® Resort Area hotels, officially located on Walt Disney World® property. You can read more about our full story here.

Three Renaissance Hotels, Three Very Different Orlando Experiences
Orlando is home to more than one Renaissance hotel, and each one is built around a different reason to be in the city. Renaissance Orlando at SeaWorld® sits in the International Drive convention and tourist corridor, a natural fit for guests centered around SeaWorld or the Orange County Convention Center. Renaissance Orlando Airport Hotel is built for travelers who want to stay close to Orlando International Airport, away from the attractions entirely. And for guests who want to be close to Disney Springs® and the Disney attractions, there is Renaissance Orlando Resort – Disney Springs® Area.
As one of the Disney Springs® Resort Area hotels, we offer guests a Disney-like experience without Disney prices, all while still enjoying great Disney benefits along the way. Each hotel simply serves a different part of Orlando, and the right one comes down to where your trip is centered.
What Sets the Disney Springs Location Apart
Location is the defining difference. As an Official Walt Disney World® Hotel, Renaissance Orlando Resort – Disney Springs® Area offers guests Early Theme Park Entry and complimentary motorcoach transportation to all four Walt Disney World® Theme Parks, with reliable shuttle service handling the journey to and from the airport as well. Disney Springs® itself is just steps from the front door, with more than 180 shops, restaurants, and entertainment venues to explore.
Guests also have access to 394 reimagined rooms and suites, three distinct dining outlets, the Indulged Spa + Wellness Retreat, and a resort-style pool, all designed with a comfortable, modern Florida feel.
