Welcome to Renaissance Orlando Resort & Spa, where history, hospitality, and modern elegance meet in the heart of the Disney Springs® Resort Area. For over five decades our address has worn three names, culminating in a $30 million transformation into a Renaissance hotel in 2024.
Our story begins in 1972, when the property first opened as The Royal Inn — a favorite for visitors seeking affordable luxury near the newly minted Magic Kingdom®. By the mid-1970s it was rebranded Hotel Royal Plaza, weathering ownership transitions through the 1990s and early 2000s, each adding its own layer of resilience and charm.
Today, under the ownership of InSite Development Group and management of Davidson Hospitality Group, we’re proud to honor that history while propelling it into an exciting new era — where Disney’s timeless allure meets Marriott’s sophisticated Renaissance style.
