Golf has a way of adding something unexpected to a Walt Disney World® trip. For guests staying at Renaissance Orlando Resort – Disney Springs® Area, one of the newest reasons to pack the clubs sits at Disney’s Magnolia Golf Course, where a four-hole challenge now carries the name of the most famously cranky dwarf of them all.
A Fresh Look at a Disney Classic
In late 2025, Arnold Palmer Golf Management at Walt Disney World® Resort completed an extensive reimagining of Disney’s Magnolia Golf Course, with updates throughout the entire course. The most memorable addition comes near the end of the round.
Meet Grumpy’s Gauntlet
Grumpy’s Gauntlet covers holes 14 through 17. It’s named for Grumpy from Disney’s 1937 classic Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, who famously warned, “Mark my words… there’s trouble a-brewin’!” Golfers who have faced these four holes may find that line fitting.
A marble-white statue of Grumpy himself stands beside the 14th teeing ground, marking the entrance to the challenge. It’s a natural photo stop before taking on the next four holes, and it rewards a second look. Grumpy’s club is a 7-iron, a nod to his fellow dwarfs. The golf ball at his feet carries a dimple pattern replicated from 1937, a tribute to the year the original film was released.
Something to Take Home
The pro shop has expanded its Grumpy’s Gauntlet collection, with Grumpy and his signature quote featured throughout. New additions include a short-sleeved T-shirt and poker-chip style ball markers. Pukka golf hats and Corkcicle tumblers round out the lineup, making it easy to bring home a souvenir for yourself or your playing partners.

Walt Disney World Golf has created a dedicated Grumpy’s Gauntlet page with photos, hole-by-hole overviews, and playing tips. It also includes a downloadable certificate you can personalize with your name and date of play, a fun way to mark the round once it’s done.
